Hello,

Based on the similarities suggested for Synology NAS, I've tried to setup a customized DDNS entry for your service however, So far, I've not been able to get it to work.

I've attached screenshot example for the configuration for the customized setup (with credentials removed for confidentiality)

I am only getting message notification that the update failed

Do you have recommendations on settings based on information which I followed from your reference in Synology NAS which is very much similar device.

https://www.dynu.com/DynamicDNS/IPUpdateClient/SynologyNAS

Thanks
Jean Guy

The QNAP config can be found at this QNAP DDNS page.

I've added this config to my QNAP (QTS 4.4.1.1081 build 20191005) but it doesn't work. It just shows a purple dot on the left side and shows no IP.

Any idea?

I'm having the same problem.

Already posted a Ticket with Qnap. We're in the discussion part.
As soon as I get a valid reply I'll post it here

Hi everyone,

After talking with their support we found out that its necessary to port forward port 8080 to the Qnap NAS or the web comunication port that you have setup in the NAS settings.

Its actually strange that it's necessary to port forward when the communication is from within our local network to the outside. I've questioned them about this.

Nevertheless it works like this. I'm considering changing the default port just for safety.

Hope it works for you.

Hi there,

My Qnap is not using the default 8080 port, then how should I set it up? For example, my QNAP uses 12345 for the web communication port. My NAT rule should be external port 8080, internal port 12345 and protocol is TCP. But the DDNS service still shows purple instead of green. Did I do it wrong? Thank you.
