Just installed the IP update client as the new router does not support dynu ddns out of the box...

To my dismay there's seems to be no functionality in the client to update only ONE ddns entry. EVERY entry of mine just got updated at once and now I have to go and fix everything as all my vpn tunnels are now down because the IP against the FQDNs are all wrong now except for the site using the IP update client.

Also the IP update client only accepts the dynu account credentials instead of the IP update password we used to use for ddns clients. I don't like leaving the credentials on a PC that isn't under my direct supervision. This is an exposure we don't need to have.

If my understanding is wrong and I'm just not using it properly please let me know.

You can create different groups at https://www.dynu.com/en-US/ControlPanel/DDNSGroup and assign the domains with the same IP to the same group. Then you can enter the username, password and group name when you log into the IP update client.
