Post Top Level Domain
by Javier Acosta on Saturday, January 30, 2016

Hi,
I have my own top level domain, I already purchased from godaddy (should have dome more research). I did one year registration, this is for personal use.

How do I go about using the top level domain (i.e. example.ca) with your Dynamic DNS Service. My questions is directed not to the technical aspect (I know I can either use the router settings or a client). Do I need to transfer the domain to you guys? If so, do I need to pay and how much? After a year do I just renew the domain with you guys?

Thank you,
Javier

Yes, you may transfer your domain name to us and the cost depends on the domain extension. A .com domain name costs $10.99 to transfer and it will add one more year to your domain name. However, we currently do not accept transfers for .ca domain names. After the domain name has been transferred to us, you can just renew it with us.

You may also use our dynamic DNS service without transferring the domain name to us. You may simply list the following name servers for your domain name at Godaddy:

NS1.DYNU.COM
NS2.DYNU.COM
NS3.DYNU.COM
NS4.DYNU.COM
NS5.DYNU.COM

You need to add your email service provider's MX records in the Dynu control panel as your DNS is managed by Dynu once you change the name servers.
