Hi,

I recently started using the Dynu IP Update Client to try and manage my every changing WAN IP.

However, I also run a VPN but do not want my VPN IP address to be the one that get's broadcast to my DYN domain. I want my router IP to be the one so I thought I would change the 'Connection Type' in the Dynu IP Update Client to 'Detect IP Address from the Server Side', however it still got my VPN IP. I've tried all others and in the end had to settle for the Static IP Option in the client, which I will have to change manually.

Is there anything I can do with route tables etc... to make this more dynamic? How does the client work out what my IP is? Perhaps whatever IP it is hitting, I can add to my route table to route to my router rather than my VPN?

You may try adding the following IP addresses in your route table:

172.82.165.74
199.233.237.20

Could someone please explain this solution in more detail? I have the same issue, but I don't understand how to add these IP addresses to a "route table." I also don't understand how these Addresses were chosen. Are they unique to this person's VPN service?
