I see that the external IP assigned to the router is different from what is reported by your client as well as sites like whatsmyip etc. Is there a way for the update client to take the external IP from the router and update Dynu instead of using the ISPs masked external IP?

This could be caused by IP proxy. Could you please try enabling 'Use port 8245 for updates instead of port 80(Avoid ISP proxy)' in 'Connection Type' in the client?

I did but of no avail. Incidentally the router had a 10.x.x.x external IP address. Does it indicate anything?

10.x.x.x is not a public external IP address, but a private IP address on your internal network.
