Topic: DDNS Host Name Strange Problem
For the past several days I have been unable to use my DYNU.com host name to access my NightOwl DVR remotely when not home using NightOwl HD APP. However, it works when I use the router's external IP address. Equipment:Linksys Smart Router EA8500Night Owl DVR HD LiteThe router has (2) needed open ports for port forwarding, port checker/tester confirmed open ports 9000 & 2049. Also confirm that port forwarding is functioning because I can remotely view cameras using router's external IP address. I reinstalled the nightowl HD APP, restarted router and DVR, but still doesn't work. What can be inhibiting the connection when a DDNS is used? The DDNS address is alienzonecctv.dynu.com and IP address = 73.135.3.92. Also, using Ping in CMD reolves IP address. This is very strange. Is there something else in the router that could be blocking dynu.com?

I have the same issue. Wan ip address + port works but my domain name does not. DYNU control panel says my domain name is resolved. When I try navigating to the domain name in a browser the message I receive is that the domain name cannot be found in DNS. Somehow DYNU's DNS is missing the domain even though the control panel indicates otherwise.
